Action Cycle I - CPS Executive Step
The Executive Step - Assessing the Situation
Identify key data.
Determine if creative thinking is necessary.
Confirm where to begin CPS.
Diagnostic thinking provides the leader with an opportunity to externally map, identify and process problems in a neutral environment.
This initial step saves time, reduces frustration and improves outcome. Effective diagnosis is at the heart of good problem solving and information is key to diagnosis.
The purpose of assessing the situation is two fold. First gather relevant information.
Second, determine whether creative thinking is necessary, and if so determine where to begin in the process.
