Creative Change Leadership Skills

Learning to Lead.

Innovation requires getting creative.

Creativity is a process that leads to change.

Because leaders bring about change, creativity is a core leadership skill.

To live is to have problems and to solve problems to is to grow intellectually. - Guilford.

Creative Change Leadership Skills

Seek and Play. Play and Seek. Either way, it’s what we do.

How to seek? How to play?
And seek again, just for the fun of it, or to problem solve.

Playfulness plays a significant part in problem solving. The First Part, actually.
After that comes the second part, the decision making, aka. critiquing.
The second part, the critiquing, just as a leading actor in a dominant role, really is the part that rules the stage.

Creativity is decision.
How to make decisions, especially in the face of complexity and ambiguity?

Creative change happens by exploring first for what might be.
In fact it’s in exploring that we can get to a place where, with so many options, we can make informed decisions.

There’s multiple sides to every story.

And then there’s somewhere in the middle.

There are a lot of ways to understand something. Creative change leaders value this reality.
What might be possible? It’s a key question.

With lots of possibilities, decision making becomes compelling.

Creativity is looking around for what might be before zeroing in.

To be skilled in creative leadership is to have a fluency in shaping solutions with skills that drive change,
because knowing what might be could become a compelling strength and eventual reality.

Explore the Vision

When adding energy to intention things will happen.

Formulate the Task

A path is to be forged.
Roadblocks are inevitable, random and uber messy.

What’s in the way: that’s the challenge.

Exploring Ideas

Ideas are free. And are to be freely tossed around, if they are to be given a breath of life.

Let what might be come about.

Formulating Solutions

There are many ways to transform ideas. Creative change leaders have a howness.

Exploring Acceptance

Actionable plan.

Complete with intention, organized thinking that leverages the imagination.

Our Roadmap

I’m Tanya Knudsen, PhD Candidate Creative Leadership.

This PAR for CPS study is important for two reasons.

First it starts with people. People are at the center of their challenges; life is challenging. And people are a nation’s greatest resource.

Second, regardless of the environment, what is the process, the ‘how’ for solving any challenge?

PAR for CPS deliberately attempts to approach the challenge by engaging people with a complex problem solving process in an effort so shape a solution that has value and is useful for resolution.
